Internships
Learn. Contribute. Grow.
The Hazel Henderson Center offers internship opportunities for undergraduate students who want to do hands-on, meaningful work in the green economy. Interns contribute to real projects across grant research, community programming, communications, and social enterprise — all rooted in Hazel Henderson's vision of an ethical and sustainable economic future.
This is not a passive experience. Interns work alongside the HHC team on active initiatives, engage with one of the most distinctive collections of ecological economics literature in existence, and leave with tangible work product and a real understanding of what it takes to build a more just and regenerative economy.
What Interns Work On
Grant research and proposal writing
Green economy and ethical markets research
Social enterprise projects and community programming
Website content, communications, and digital media
Archival and library projects — working with Hazel Henderson's annotated collection
Event support for convenings, workshops, and residencies
Sustainability and permaculture garden initiatives
Focus Areas
Internship projects are grounded in the same seven focus areas that shaped Hazel Henderson's life's work: technology and production, employment and migration, trade and ethical finance, peacebuilding, environmental sustainability, consumption and culture, and social and institutional change. Students do not need to be studying economics — we welcome backgrounds in communications, the arts, public policy, library science, and the humanities.
