  • This event focused on activists learning about being living systems and life’s multi-billion-year journey with the Fritjof Capra Course. Our 250+ weeks of the Monday Study Group evolved into FLOH and the Florida Commons. Now the Florida Network is experiencing our emerging collective intelligence and the power of networks networking with networks. We have become a Community of Practice, sharing what works in Florida and beyond. (Spring 2025 Capra Course begins February 12, 2025.

  • Dr. Blissman’s research has focused on the interconnections between the work and thought of Hazel Henderson and the work being done through the three United Nations Framework conventions created in 1992 at the first Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, namely the

    • United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)

    • Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD)

    • United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD)

  • This roundtable brought together US-based participants and those from Europe, India, and Japan to discuss threats to democratic ideals from corporate-led globalization and neoliberal economic ideologies. Key topics included:

    • Climate change as the overarching issue challenging existing structures

    • Threats posed by social media giants (Facebook, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, WeChat, TenCent, Baidu)

    • Manipulation of public opinion affecting Brexit, 2016 US election, and elections in Brazil and Europe

    • Data ownership and privacy rights

    • The role of patriarchal values in unequal governance structures

    The roundtable included a session with St. Augustine Mayor Nancy Shafer (just re-elected for a third term), who discussed efforts on resilience and adaptation to climate change as vice chair of Florid'a’s statewide committee of mayors.

  • This retreat focused on "Steering FinTech Toward Global SDGs and COP21, assessing: Market-based and technological reforms (IEX, BestEx, blockchain-based systems)

    • Energy-efficient solar powered server farms

    • Standards, best practices, carbon tracking and pricing

    • Accounting protocols and metrics (SASB, IIRC, JustCapital)

    • Green bonds, cryptocurrencies, crowdfunding

    • Universal basic incomes and global governance protocols

  • These retreats brought together Pioneer SRI Asset Managers focused on:

    • Transforming Finance: Post-mortem on US Presidential election, outlook for EU, rise of Asia, climate disruption

    • State of financial markets, high-frequency trading (HFT) issues

    • Growing ESG, SRI, CSR and the Green Transition following RIO+20 Declaration by 191 countries

    • Green Transition Scoreboard research showing $3.6 trillion in private green investing since 2007

    • Empowering individual initiatives including Common Good Investing and Conscious Investing

Our research team compiles financial data screened by rigorous social, environment, and governance auditing standards.   • For advertising that uplifts the human spirit and society – seek to transform advertising and marketing by demonstrating the power of media campaigns to further both the public interest and legitimate private interests. 

  • Standard challenges global mining of gems,  unnecessary now that human science creates gems indistinguishable from those mined. The standard certifies only gems from Earth-friendly materials science, which are conflict and  cruelty free, more humane and sustainable.

  • An investment methodology, consulting and due diligence framework  for identifying technologies and enterprises accelerating the green transition to the Solar Age. 

  • Highlights the momentum bringing sustainable investing to Main Street,  Wall Street and international finance. The Directory lists businesses and organizations directly involved  with green investing, whether using SRI, ESG, triple bottom line, green, ethical, impact, circular investing, Ethical Biomimicry Finance® or other environmental and humanitarian standards and  metrics. The Directory is a public service and includes community development organizations, NGOs  

  • In collaboration with Library Press @ UF, an imprint of the University of  Florida Press, we republish important books and reports which anticipated public issues, problems and opportunities and were overlooked or suppressed by incumbent special interests, often more relevant today than when first published.
