Ralph Nader

“Hazel Henderson came to her economic views from experience… And then there was no stopping her. All over the world, she made things happen. Why? Because she brought economics down to where people work, live and raise their families. Instead of the theoretical gross national product measurements, she said the economy should be measured by the level of child poverty, the level of pollution.”

Jean Houston

“She was a world historical being. In a sense, she comes from the future as an act of divine grace from the universe.”

Fritjof Capra

“Hazel understood systems thinking before it became popular. She saw connections — between people, nature, and economy — and acted on them.”

Riane Eisler

“Hazel didn’t just challenge the mainstream — she built an alternative. Her work made it impossible to ignore that economics is a values-based system.”

Bill McKibben

“A visionary ecological economist.”
